The Meaning Behind the Name

The name Talk Tees & Tea reflects the heart of the magazine.

“Talk” represents conversation — the meaningful exchanges where stories, experiences, and wisdom are shared. These conversations bring people together and help build connection and understanding.

“Tees” represents people — the women, mothers, daughters, and aunties who often sit at the center of those conversations. Aunties, whether by family or community, are often the storytellers, encouragers, and wisdom keepers who help guide and uplift others.

“Tea” represents the setting where many of these moments take place. Across cultures, tea has long been a symbol of hospitality, reflection, and gathering.

Together, Talk Tees & Tea represents a space where conversation, community, and storytelling come together — often around a warm cup of tea.

Meet the Founders

Talk Tees & Tea Magazine was founded by Sharon Robinson, Founder and CEO, and Shelia Johnson, Co-Founder and COO — two friends who became sisters through life and shared experiences.

Over the years, their lives have often seemed to move in step, supporting and encouraging one another through different seasons. Their friendship has been built on trust, conversation, faith, and a shared appreciation for the moments that bring people together.

Out of those experiences grew the vision for Talk Tees & Tea — a space where stories could be shared, voices could be celebrated, and meaningful conversations could take place.

Through the magazine, Sharon and Shelia hope to create a welcoming place where readers feel inspired, encouraged, and reminded of the power of connection — often beginning with something as simple as a cup of tea.
